Tan is one of my "basic" colors.
Some manufacturers call this medium beige.
Tan is the boring color that upholsterers have used for years because they didn't match their zippers or thread.
Am changing up pricing on basic colors, ie white, ivory, tan, navy & black.
Deeper discounts at 25 & 50 yards.
Wholesale pricing at 400 yards or dye rolls.
My gift to you, as a fellow small business owner, is free shipping at $100 in the US & $150 in Canada.
February, 2026: Are tariffs affecting pricing?
Yes!
ALL zipper tape and pulls are made off shore.
Yes, zippers are FINISHED in the US. (Think car parts made all over the world but F-150 trucks assembled in Michigan.)
I dye quantities (5,000 yards at a time) off shore but dye small amounts on shore.
Dye-stuffs are made off-shore. So yes those are tariffed also & to make it more complicated different colors are made in different countries with different tariffs.
In 2024 I paid roughly 1-3% in tariffs to our government & am now paying 25-65% to our government for the privilege of importing for YOU.
NO, tariffs are NOT being paid to the exporting country but to our government as a sales tax.
Several off-shore companies have reduced their prices to me, which puts their companies in jeopardy, to help YOU with pricing.
And it also helps me stay in business to keep YOU in business.
As a small business owner, YOU know that profits and/or staying in business is not a straight line.
2026 will continue to be a challenge for ALL of us!
You can get me really wound up if you want to call & talk tariffs! LOL!
But more crazy is how shipping has gone up in the last 2 years.
I am now paying 4x for shipping INTO the country (double in the past 3 months or November 2025-February, 2026) and then double from the dyer to me in the past month.
Canadian Shipping on a small flat rate box via our Post Office has increased from $16.95 to $34.50 since August, 2025 to yesterday! So am using FedEx more. Fedex has its own problems because they are collecting reciprocal tariffs into Canada.
