This would be a good replacement zipper for sweaters, jackets, ski coats, kids items. Easily shortened from the top for your project. Videos above to help you replace your zipper or shorten it.

Coil Zippers come in several different sizes: #3, #5, #8, & #10. The size of the coil gets larger as the size gets larger, so the #3 denotes 3mm across when closed, #5 is 5mm across when closed, etc. #3 & #5 are about the same strength, but #3 is more flexible than the larger #5.
