#8 1-way Separating Coil Zipper
These are strong, supple zippers. They have been used for wind screens, tents, sleeping bags, zipping on the bedding in an Airstream or boat.
Zipper is easily shortened FROM THE TOP! Don't forget to order stainless top stops. You will need 2 - one for each side of the zipper coil.
So how I ZIP the bedding on in my Airstream:
1) Cut the foam to the shape of your berth.
2) I cover the foam the same way I would make a cushion cover with a zipper on the boxing next to the wall.
3) THEN I add an additional zipper, under a fabric lip, on the TOP of the foam cover. I usually start it on the front edge, around the foot, & up the edge closest to the outside of the trailer.
4) I make a sandwich of duvet or coverlet, top & bottom sheets, think shaped sleeping bag.
5) Add the other side of the top zipper to the sandwich.
Instead of having to wrestle the fitted sheet & bedding off & on, you just zip it on or off to be laundered.
